Wallets
Crypto is held in what is referred to as a ‘wallet’. They are like your bank-accounts. Crypto ‘wallets’store your private keys, keeping your crypto safe and accessible. They also allow you to send, receive, and spend cryptocurrencies.
Each wallet has its own address, a series of letters and numbers, much like a bank account, as an identifier. Always double check your wallet address is correct before any interaction or financial transfer is made.
One of the most widely used cryptocurrency wallet applications is Metamask. Metamask is available for download as an extension through Google Chrome on your PC, or on both the Appstore for IOS and Playstore for Android.
Every Metamask wallet is secured with a 12 word secret code called a seed phrase. This is a security feature. No one should ever have access or know your seed phrase beyond yourself. The seed phrase ensures you can access your wallet should you lose your password. Keep your seed phrase safe, and private.
